The objective of the Mineral Resources Authority is to provide government with needful information for mining and geology policy making, to provide good services to our costumers and to implement the policies order to improve mineral sector’s development.Strategy substance

      The strategy substance of Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia is to implement the Mining Law of Mongolia, Land Law and its regulations, the government activity program and to implement Minister and Deputy Minister’s directives. Activities’ Strategy task

      Following are the main objective activities of Mineral Resources Authority.

1. To provide needful information to the energy and mineral resources administrative organizations of government order to develop policies of related sectors, to implement the policies and to create investment opportunities in the sector

2. To provide services relating to the exploration and mining licenses according to the Mining Law of Mongolia.

3. To provide for government administrative organizations with leadership and human resources management

Main activities
      The Mineral Resources Authority’s main activities are:
Geology Division
- To enter agreements with companies order to do local geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, regional research, minerals exploration, exploration work, metalogeny research,
- to organize the work to improve the registered mineral deposits,
- to get attentions of investors to do research in interesting areas, - to support making geology and mineral policies,
- to have sustainable registration of geology and minerals database in the state level,
- to provide information to the customers, to provide, restore and update archival service,
- To supervise and to inspect to the exploration works that had been done by private assets and to create database.
Mining Division
- Using environmentally friendly, economical techniques and technologies in the mining and processing,
- Defining, doing researches and make report of works,
- Comments, references, organizing implementing works are done according to the report are done,
- to support making the policies of production development.
Coal Division
- To supervise and to inspect the coal technique and technologies in coal sector,
- To improve the state properties according to the technique technologies’ standards,
- To use environmentally friendly technologies in the mining,
- To introduce (domesticate) new, well developed techniques and technologies in Mongolian condition,
- To do needed researches to do near and future perspectives of the sector,
- To provide information to the government administrative organization by sending work report and all related information.
 Geology and mining Cadastre division
- To issue exploration and mining licenses,
- To register and update mapping registrations of licenses,
- To extend licenses issued date,
- To transfer, to pledge and to receive areas as parts and fully of licenses,
- To prepare statistics and information for the public and other organizations,
- To resolve issues of boarding areas of licenses,
- To register geology and mining cadastre.
